ResumeLaping Wu is a professor in College of Economics and Management at China agricultural University. He participates in research, teaching, and consultancy. He has published broadly in academic journals, books, and industry outlets,including AJAE, Food Policy, China Economic Review, and World Economy etc. His research and writing focus particularly on agricultural market, grain economy and agricultural trade. He is principal investigator for over 50 research projects, including five projects granted by National Foundation of Sciences of China (NSFC) and three projects granted by National Foundation of Philosophy and Social Sciences of China. He has been the associate editor of China Agricultural Economic Review since its start in 2008.
He actively participates in consultancy for governments. He is the member of Grain Law Drafting Expert Group since 2010, the economist of the China Agriculture Research System since 2011, and the Expert of Market Early Warning of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs since 2012. He was ever the National Consultant of Agricultural Product Market Monitor and Early Warning of the FAO of United Nations (2010), Expert of ESCAP of United Nation (2012), World Bank, Asian Development Bank and other international organizations. He was selected as the New Century Excellent Talents of the Ministry of Education of China in 2015, the Economics Talent of the Four First-Batch of Beijing Government in 2015, the University Leading Professor in 2019 and the Excellent Teachers of Beijing in 2023.
