Weixin Zhai

Hello, my name is Weixin Zhai. I am an Associate Professor and PhD advisor at the College of Information and Electrical Engineering, China Agricultural University (CAU) since 2020. Prior to my academic career at CAU, I earned my Bachelor's and Doctor's degrees from Peking University in 2013 and 2018, respectively. During my PhD, I had the privilege of working under the guidance of Professor Chengqi Cheng and Academician Bangkui Fan. In the subsequent two years, from 2018 to 2020, I pursued my post-doctoral research with the supervision of Academician Weinan E. Additionally, I had the opportunity to work as a visiting scholar at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, USA, from 2016 to 2017, under the mentorship of Professor Jean-Claude Thill.

My research interests primarily lie in the field of agricultural machinery big data and unmanned driving of agricultural machinery. I have had the privilege of advising more than 10 postgraduate students, including two PhD students, in their research endeavors. The accompanying GIF and video provide a brief glimpse into the work that my students and I have been engaged in.

As part of my administrative roles, I currently serve as the Vice Dean of the Data Science and Engineering Department, a member of the Zhongnongbeidou research group at CAU, and the Secretary of the Key Laboratory of Agricultural Machinery Monitoring and Big Data Application of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

I have been leading several notable scientific projects, including:

1. Research on Data Mining of Spatiotemporal Characteristics of Agricultural Machinery Trajectories for Agricultural Machinery Subsidies, funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, where I serve as the Principal Investigator for the period 2024-2026.

2. Decision Consultation on Agricultural Machinery Subsidies and Optimal Machinery Evaluation Based on Big Data of Agricultural Machinery Trajectories, supported by the China Association for Science and Technology Youth Talent Program, where I serve as the Principal Investigator for the period 2022-2022.

3. Integration Technology and Regional Comprehensive Application Demonstration of Beidou Precision Navigation and High-Resolution Remote Sensing, a subproject under the National Key Research and Development Program, where I assume the role of Subproject Leader for the period 2021-2025.
