个人简介

My research interests and experiences have been related to numerous fields of atmospheric sciences. In the past ten years, the research I led focused on regional climate modelling and its use to study different types of high-impact weather systems, including tropical cyclones, atmospheric rivers and atmospheric vortices associated with cold surges in the tropics. I have a particular interest in understanding the roles of synoptic signals in triggering extreme climate events and how such mechanisms change due to climate warming. This also led to my interest and some capabilities in the application of weather signal detection tools, machine learning, general circulation models and their downscaling techniques. I am also interested in the application of basin-scale hydrological simulations and crop modelling to understand the socio-economic impact of climate change.
